A perfect read if you are in the mood for a gentle yet moving story. The author is young and inexperienced, and learns much about life and love from the older woman. I learned something too! Midwife Sarah Brandt teams up with New York police detective Malloy to solve murders in turn-of-the-century New York City. (Margaret from CHE) New World Monkeys / Nancy Mauro FIC This is a stylishly-written novel about a young couple whose marriage dissolves as they try to cover up the accidental death of a wild boar that is their small town’s mascot. (Lauren from SLC) Pandora’s Star / Peter Hamilton BCD, FIC Humans encounter hostile aliens in this highly entertaining and complex space adventure. The survival of the human race depends on the actions and decisions of a few characters that the reader grows to care about and empathize with.
